Here’s the closest we’ve got to nanorobots performing surgery.
Not exactly nano, but it’s a robot right?
I got excited about this until I got to the bottom:
“Powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology, the surgeon’s hand movements are scaled, filtered and seamlessly translated into precise movements of the EndoWrist Instruments. The system cannot be programmed, nor can it make decisions on its own. ”
So exactly what is a robot then? If it can’t be programmed or make decisions on it’s own? How about remote manipulator?
Sheesh. How disappointing.
